I love knitting lace! If a pattern has none in it, I'll add it on the fly. I created this pattern because my friend wanted to learn how to make a lacey shawl, but didn't want it to be too complicated. So I created a shawl for a "new lace knitter." The blue shawl is the result of this. It can have a garter stitch edge as shown, or a trickier knitted lace edging. I made the pink shawl with the lace edging for my daughter's birthday. She lives in the southwest and works in an overly-cool office... It's not chilly anymore! grin I usually knit a 1-3 hours every day. It took me about 3 weeks to design and knit the Blue Lake shawl, and another week to write it all down as a pattern for my friend. The pinks shawl took about a week for the triangle and a few more days for the edging.
