Product Description
Each time I open a stitch dictionary, I see a new stitch pattern that I want to try. There are so many possible textures that can be created with crochet – the combinations are endless. This blanket was inspired by a series of swatches worked in the summer of 2011, a summer which seemed to also include a parade of new babies in my circle of family and friends. Since I spend a lot of time crocheting on the go while my kids climb on the playground, I decided that a blanket made up of squares that could fit in my bag was the best strategy for being productive.
The blanket as designed is made up of 24 squares using 4 colors and 6 different stitch patterns. If you need a larger blanket for a bigger kid or for yourself, all you need to do is make more squares.
Stitch patterns used in the blanket squares use basic crochet stitches, a variety of decrease stitches, a spike stitch, a bobble, and crocheting into the back loop.
