About the Design: I look at all types of textiles for design inspiration. This motif was inspired by a lace pattern, called Springtime, in Marianne Kinzel's "First Book of Modern Lace Knitting". I kept the patterning to the cuff and leg, leaving the foot plain and used heel stitch pattern on the heel flap, heel turning and the toe shaping. I knit all 3 colorways in Nature Spun Worsted, an all wool yarn with such wonderful yardage, it knits well as a DK.
Original Soft Colorway: #N20 Arctic Moss (MC), #N98 Pink Please (A), and #730 Natural (B*). Bright Colorway: #522 Nervous Green (MC), #105 Bougainvillea (A), and #N81 Aran (B).**Dark Colorway: **#121 Tornado Teal (MC), #N81 Cranberry Fog (A), and #N03 Grey Heather (B).
**Gauge: **7.5 sts and 10 rnds / 1” (2.5 cm) in St st and 7 sts and 8.5 rnds / 1” over stranded pattern with size 2 ndls or size to give gauge. To save time, take time to check gauge.
