Product Description
About the Design: This V-shaped shawl is not difficult to knit, but it will keep your attention! The 2-row stitch patt is adapted from Barbara Walker’s "Charted Knitting Designs". The shawl needs no edging, unless you desire one - as knit, it is non-curling. In this lovely alpaca yarn, it is a luscious coverup for cool spring days and summer eves. Sampled in Kraemer Yarns Alpaca DK, 100% North American alpaca (220 yds/100 gms).
Finished Dimensions: Unblocked W x L: approx 27” x 38”, Blocked W x L: approx 29” x 54”
Gauge: 17 sts and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st and ! 16 sts and 22 rows = 4” over lace patt (un-stretched & unblocked) with size 8 ndls or size to give gauge. To save time, take time to check gauge.Notes: 1) This is a looser St st gauge, than I would use for a garment (the ndl size is 2-3 sizes larger). 2) Work flat on a circular, or use straight ndls, as you prefer. 3) When using a substitute yarn, look for a high alpaca content and at least 2 plies, like the suggested yarn.
