The cowl measures 9 inches (23 cm) in depth at the back of the neck, with the front depth varying between 19 inches (48 cm) for the small size and 21 inches (51 cm) for the large size.

Knitting Techniques

This intermediate-level knitting project employs a bias knitting technique, meaning the fabric is worked on the diagonal rather than in traditional rows. The cowl is knitted flat on the bias, which creates an interesting directional fabric and allows for dynamic color placement. Once the knitting is complete, the piece is sewn together at the back to form the finished cowl shape.
