School Days Afghan

Bright colors and distinct textures make up this lively crochet block afghan. I made this cozy afghan for my daughter when we remade her bedroom into a “big girl” room.

This design is filled with different stitch patterns and is versatile in creating different variations:

Make the afghan in four colors plus an accent color like white OR make it in just two colors.

Finish a small lap version (4x4’) OR a full-sized bedspread (5x7’) or some other square-block finished sized.

Alternate pattern blocks with solid blocks OR make them all patterned (or all solid)!

You can even make an all-patterned afghan (no solid squares) look slightly different depending on whether you start with the main color or the accent.
