Sayre is a shawl that uses the method of double knitting to create it’s reversible, bold design. There will be no worries of seeing stranded work on the opposite side of your shawl since all yarn strands are naturally hidden in between the two fabrics that are created when working in double knitting. As two fabrics are worked at once, you have a double insulated shawl that will keep you warm on colder days.
The double knitting technique is thoroughly explained in this pattern, so if you are comfortable at knitting but have never attempted double knitting, then this pattern can help you to learn a new and fun technique.
