Renaissance Fan

Renaissance Fan was inspired by the fascinating feather fans of the 17th century.

It creates the illusion of a folding fan when used in a yarn with a high sheen, such as silk or tencel, or of the vanes of a feather when worked in a matte yarn such as cotton or wool.

The shawl increases using a memorable and easy formula, gradually adding feather eyelets before resolving into a shower of smaller feathers in an edging that can be repeated to a much larger size.

Suitable for lace to fingering yarn. 

Repeatable edging allows the knitter to use more of the remaining yarn. Beads (optional) are incorporated as a sneaky way to keep track of rows.

Can be worked entirely from either the written or charted pattern. Patterning is worked on RS rows only.
