Product Description
This type of primitive comfort doll is known in our house as a lovey or a wubbie. It is a topsy turvy doll as well. The lace is reversible, and there is a head for each side, one that is awake and one for sleeping.
Note: I used a five skein mini-pack to make this doll. This is a perfect project for leftovers, however. I used 45 yards of each color or less.
Gauge: 25 stitches X 28 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on smaller needles in the round, blocked
13 stitches X 21 rounds = 4 inches (10 cm) in Porcupine Lace on larger needles in the round, blocked
Finished Measurements: Head circumference approximately 10.25 inches / 26 cm
Length from head to hem of skirt approximately 15 inches / 38 cm
Skills Required: Casting on provisionally, knitting in the round, picking up stitches, increasing and decreasing, basic embroidery, basic crochet hook manipulation
