Product Description
A little piece of Kiwiana.
The inspiration for these dolls came from the iconic Marylou doll, sold in New Zealand since 1941.
Marylou was made by H (Hec) E Ramsey Limited of Auckland, who also created the Kiwi icon - BuzzyBee™.
Rainbow Lou is my modern tribute to represent diversity and inclusion in New Zealand today.
May B Lou is my tribute to the original dolls which came with red or blue bodies (shown in red). Examples have also been found with pale pink or pale mint coloured bodies. The modern version has a pink body.
This pattern uses very small quantities of yarn, so is good for stash busting.
ERRATA - the original pattern loaded contained 2 errors in the body section of the May B Lou doll. This has been replaced with a new version of the pattern.
The increase row (from 30 sts to 35 sts) should read K3, incr, (k5, incr) x 4, k2 (35sts)
The first decrease row (from 50 sts to 45 sts) should read K2tog, (k8, k2tog) x 4, k8
The instructions for Rainbow Lou were correct.
