What is Being Made

The Rainbow Beanie is a seamless, in-the-round knit hat designed for babies and children in sizes ranging from 0-6 months through child size. This beginner-friendly beanie features a distinctive rainbow embroidery detail on the centre front, making it a charming and colorful accessory for young wearers.

Construction and Techniques

This beanie is knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up, which creates a clean, tubular construction without side seams. The pattern employs several key knitting techniques to achieve its finished design:

• Twisted Rib Stitch: The fold-up rim is worked in twisted rib stitch, which creates neat, defined rib stitches that provide structure and elasticity to the hat's opening
• Stockinette Stitch: The main body of the beanie is knit in plain stockinette stitch, creating a smooth, classic fabric
• Crown Shaping: The crown is shaped to a point through strategic decreases
• Kitchener Stitch: The crown stitches are grafted together using Kitchener Stitch, also known as weaving, which creates an invisible seam and professional finish at the top
