A very easy beginner knitting pattern, all square/rectangular slipper socks using Chenille yarn (I used approx 40gms of Sirdar Snuggly tutti frutti for the adult size) 5mm needles and oddments of DK yarn for the pompoms, which are also very simple to make. Three size options, 6-10 yrs, 10-16yrs and adults. No heel shaping involved just one row of minor, very easy decreasing for the toes, they are so warm, soft and comfortable you could even sleep in them, my daughter just pops them into her bag when visiting me or her Gran's house If you are knitting them for younger children they can be slippery on laminate flooring etc as all socks are and I would recommend you use a product called 'sock stop' which is a latex based paint that you apply to the underside of the sipper socks in dots for grip.
