Product Description
A Nordic style, earflap hat with a two colour fairisle and stripe design. The hat is knitted flat with contrast garter stitch trims. Earflaps are knitted individually then knitted into the trim of the hat.
The pattern uses Rowan's Hand Knit DK- 100% cotton yarn but other worsted yarns can be used as long as the required tension is achieved. There are other yarn alternatives listed in the materials information below.
Knitted on 4mm (US 6) straight needles with a central back seam finish.
Techniques required; cast on and bind off, garter stitch, stocking/stockinette stitch, two colour stripe knitting, fairisle knitting and the ability to work from a pattern chart for the fairisle design.
Instructions for 5 sizes: 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 months and 1-2, 3+ years
To fit head circumference: 38cm (15in), 43cm (17in), 46cm (18in), 49cm (19in), 53cm (21in)
