Mystic Delight

Mystic Delight was originally published as a mystery knitalong (Mystic KAL).

Mystic Delight is a whimsical shawl, designed with bright and happy colors in mind.

I selected the colors on a dark and gray winter day, when I really just needed some color to cheer me up, and Tanis Fiber Arts’ orange blossom and poppy colorways fit the bill perfectly. The final look of the shawl is greatly influenced by the colors chosen—bright combinations make it look cheerful, but it can become a classic, elegant shawl if you choose more conservative colors such as cream and charcoal.

This is the first Mystic shawl to use multiple colors in the design. Each section of the body is different but complementary, to add some variety to the knitting. There is a diamond pattern that goes from solid to nupps to lacy holes. It’s easily memorizable, and a fairly relaxing knit.
