Mosaic Crop Vest 2

The Mosaic Crop Vest is knitted bottom up in two pieces. It is worked in a Mosaic/Slip stitch pattern, using basic stitches, cable pattern and two colours of different weight (texture) yarns: Drops Nepal (Aran weight) and Drops Fabel (4 ply). At a glance it might it look complicated and intricate, but Mosaic knitting involves just two simple techniques- slipping stitches and changing colours between rows. You work with one colour per row, swapping colours every 2 rows. The best thing- there are no floats as in stranded knitting or multiple balls of yarn per row as in intarsia cable technique. To highlight the solid colour diamond cable, I used the Drops Fabel “Print” option for the background, to add a pop of colour. The vest is designed as a cropped silhouette, which can be easily modified to make longer. It features a striped V neck and armhole bands knitted in rib.
