Morning Star Blanket

The pattern is inspired by the popular saw-tooth star motif often found in fabric quilts. Knitted squares mimic quilt blocks and an added i-cord border keeps the blanket looking clean and crisp. The squares are worked corner-to-corner in garter stitch with simple increases and decreases for shaping and seamed together to form the design. The pattern sample is knit in a sport weight cotton yarn, but other fibres would work equally well. An alternative cotton yarn to the Drops Safran used is Schachenmayer Catania. Suitable for a beginner knitter, the modular design makes it easy to carry around when out and about and both the design and size can be easily customized.
