Mermaid / Fish Scale Afghan Square

This beautiful mermaid or fish scale pattern is created with knit and purl stitches, along with a few yarn over slipped stitches.

The pattern includes instructions for a square that can be used as a pot holder or cushion cover, as well as separate instructions for converting the square into an Afghan or blanket (with two different ways to do this).

If you're a beginner, this may be a little challenging at first, until you get the hang of it, but its still doable. If you're an intermediate or advanced knitter, this should be a breeze.
