King Cole Merino Blend DK

I bought 20 balls of this in Irish Navy to make a jumper. The pattern that recommends it describes it as 'gorgeous'. Sadly, it's not soft at all and doesn't feel anything like merino wool should. It's possibly the scratchiest yarn I've ever felt! I'm not sure if washing would make much of a difference, but I'm not going to waste my time to find out. I'm going to have to return the balls that I haven't used. Very disappointed with this yarn.

I've used this yarn so many times in different projects! It knits or crochets well. It also wears and washes well. I love the denim colour in particular as it goes with so many other colours if you are knitting Fair Isle. One of my favourite yarns.

I’ve used this yarn before. It’s very durable and knits easily. In fact I’ve unpicked one of the jumpers I made from it after a fair amount of use, washed the yarn and reused it to make another jumper and it worked beautifully. So, yes, I’d recommend it! It washes very well too although I always hand wash wool whether it says it’s machine washable or not!

Soft to touch and lovely to knit with. No splitting of wool as per other brands. Pliable, forgiving and soft to touch. Perfect for the baby cardigan I knitted. Will buy again in different colours. Makes such a difference to the knitting experience when you’re working with quality products

Knits up beautifully. Made warm socks 🧦 Doesn't seem to pil too much. Smooth to knit with and strands don't separate.

Lovely wool. The texture is quite smooth making it lovely to crotchet with. I love the flecks of colour throughout, and the sweater I made is nice and warm.

I love this yarn - I've used it for years. Lovely pure wool that knits up and washes well. A good range of colours and reasonably priced. I come back to it again and again.
