Product Description
My favorite animals in the entire zoo are the kangaroos. Most visitors pass quickly through the Australia exhibit on their way to the tigers or bears. I did the same for years until I became a volunteer. People would ask questions I couldn’t answer, which started me on a study program of these marvelous marsupials that never reaches an end. This hat is my tribute to kangaroos, all 70+ surviving species of them.
This pattern features 3 sizes, from teen through x-large adult. The hat is a single brim watch cap knit in the round in one or two colors and topped with a pompom. I used Red Heart Super Saver for my samples, though any worsted weight with a gauge of 17 stitches = 4" will work.
Three embroidered "leaping" or "standing" kangaroos encircle the hat. The roos are embroidered in duplicate stitch after the hat is complete, and this pattern assumes a knowledge of this technique.
Gift tags to print are included.
