Humphrey the Humpback Whale

Humphrey is a big whale toy knitted for hugs! This whale is worked in stockinette stitch with increases and decreases for shaping. This big toy is knit in DK weight yarns … if you wanted to super-size your whale you could follow this pattern using a larger needle and a chunkier yarn to make a bigger ocean friend. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the whale is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The lip piece is an i-cord tube which is worked on two double pointed needles (DPNs). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. One size only - 55cm long.
