Hello Granny is an easy textured hat, using a crochet block as a focal point, taking elementary techniques from both crafts, yet fun and cute!
The hat is worked from the bottom up in sections – the crochet block is made first, then the knitted part that goes next to the block is worked flat, then both parts are joined together and the work continues in the round to the top.
The pattern includes two options to choose from – one big crochet square or a block of two small squares joined together, and is written for one size only – to fit most adult women heads.
However easy, this project requires skills in both knitting and crochet. It could be a great project for a knitter who wants to try a bit of easy crochet, or vice versa – for a crocheter who would enjoy some mindless knitting.
