I like the hat pattern as it is knit on straight needles
I like that the hat is knit on two needles then joined and a pom pom can be added if required. I knit mine in WYS ColourLab which is pure wool and it is fabulous.

Sirdar pattern 7335 is a versatile knitting collection featuring a Hat and three distinct Scarf designs, all worked in Sirdar Crofter DK yarn. The pattern covers sizes from 4 years through to Adult, making it an ideal choice for knitters looking to create coordinating accessories for the whole family. Each design is approachable for knitters of varying skill levels and produces stylish, practical cold-weather accessories.
The pattern includes a classic knitted hat designed to fit an average-sized child's or adult's head across the four size ranges. It is worked in Sirdar Crofter DK and is available in shades 090, 091, or 088. The hat requires just 1 ball (50g) for the 4–6 years size and 2 balls for sizes 7–9 years through to Adult. As with many classic knitted hats, it is likely shaped through crown decreases to create a neat, fitted finish.
The Pom Pom Scarf is a long, narrow accessory finished with decorative pom poms at each end — a playful detail that makes it particularly appealing for children while remaining stylish for adults. Worked in Sirdar Crofter DK shade 088, the scarf ranges in finished size from 14 cm wide x 130 cm long (5½ x 51¼ in) for ages 4–6 years up to 18 cm wide x 160 cm long (7 x 63 in) for adults. It requires 2 balls (50g) for the two smaller sizes and 3 balls for the larger sizes. The pom pom embellishment is a simple yet effective finishing technique, typically made using a pom pom maker or cardboard rings and trimmed to a neat sphere.
The Threaded Scarf is a shorter, wider design with a distinctive construction detail — threading, which likely involves slits or openings knitted into the fabric that allow one end of the scarf to be pulled through, creating a self-fastening style. This practical feature keeps the scarf neatly in place without the need for tucking or tying. Worked in Sirdar Crofter DK shade 091, it measures from 16 cm wide x 55 cm long (6¼ x 21¾ in) for ages 4–6 up to 18 cm wide x 80 cm long (7 x 31½ in) for adults. Yarn requirements are 1 ball (50g) for the smallest size and 2 balls for all larger sizes.
The Scarf with Ribbed Edges is a longer, more traditional scarf design distinguished by its neat ribbed border. Ribbing is a classic knitting technique that alternates knit and purl stitches — commonly in a 1x1 or 2x2 arrangement — to create a stretchy, textured edge that lies flat and frames the main body of the scarf neatly. The central panel is likely worked in a straightforward stitch such as stocking stitch or garter stitch. Worked in Sirdar Crofter DK shade 090, this scarf ranges from 17 cm wide x 120 cm long (6½ x 47¼ in) for ages 4–6 up to 20 cm wide x 150 cm long (8 x 59 in) for adults. It requires 2 balls (50g) across all four sizes.

They were very easy to knit and I had some wool I bought a while ago and just used that. Great results.
