What Is Being Made

The Evermore Bloom is a round ripple blanket designed in a beautiful heirloom style, evoking the aesthetic of traditional baby shawls used for bringing babies home and celebrating new arrivals. The design features a striking centre starflower motif and expands outward in a centre-out construction, creating an elegant circular blanket suitable as a cherished keepsake piece.

Design Structure and Construction

This intermediate-level crochet project is constructed using a centre-out round ripple technique. The blanket steps out progressively from 12 points to 24 points to 48 points to 96 points, creating an expanding geometric pattern that radiates from the central starflower. The finished blanket measures approximately 120–140 centimeters in diameter, depending on yarn weight and hook size chosen.

Crochet Techniques and Stitches

The Evermore Bloom uses fundamental crochet stitches to build its ripple and starflower design. The pattern employs the following techniques:

  • Double crochet (dc) — the primary stitch used throughout the blanket for structure and drape
  • Single crochet (sc) — used for shaping and stitch definition
  • Back loop double crochet (BLdc) — creates textural variation and definition in the ripple pattern
  • Centre-out construction — the blanket is worked from the centre starflower outward in expanding rounds
  • Round ripple technique — creates the characteristic undulating wave pattern that defines the blanket's aesthetic

Materials Required

The Evermore Bloom is designed to work with any weight yarn, offering flexibility for crafters with different yarn preferences. Approximately 2000 meters of yarn is needed, with the exact yardage depending on the yarn weight selected, hook size, and individual crochet style. Recommended yarn weights include 4-ply, 6-ply, DK, and sport weight options.

Additional materials needed to complete the project include:

  • Crochet hook (size determined by chosen yarn weight)
  • Stitch markers for tracking pattern repeats and construction points
  • Wool or darning needle for weaving in ends

Skill Level

This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for crocheters with foundational skills who are ready to work with more complex shaping and multi-point construction techniques.

Pattern & yarn not as described

Lovely pattern which is supposed to be easy to crochet, I wouldn't attempt this as a reasonably new crocheter as a LOT of the instructions are incomplete in my opinion, I'm an experienced crocheted I've struggled in places with the instructions.
