Emilia - Rectangle lace shawl

“Emilia” is my original and personal wedding shawl - but of course, it will look beautiful at all other events, too.

I combined the historic leaf border (harebell lace border from Weldon’s Practical Knitter) with a variation of the Haapsalu “Waterlily” pattern (also known as “star” pattern).

You start knitting the lower border first. Then you pick up stitches for the shawl center and at last you combine the upper border (which is a smaller version of the lower border) with the center.
