Duggari Sweater

Duggari is a raglan sweater knitting pattern for men, worked seamlessly from the top down in worsted weight yarn. The sweater features a textured yoke, high collar, and classic Nordic fisherman-sweater style.

The design resembles sailors’ sweaters of the past, hence the name Duggari: Dugga was a certain type of fishing boat used by Englishmen fishing around Iceland in the 16th century, the fishermen were called “duggari”.

The pattern is suitable for knitters with some experience. The following techniques are used: Casting on and binding off, knitting and purling, picking up stitches to knit, increasing (M1R and M1L) and decreasing (k2tog and ssk). Neck shaping and increasing for raglan, while working in textured stitch pattern. The pattern includes explanations and references to tutorial videos.
