"Dötzchen" - Baby-Blanket

Friends in the Rhineland are expecting their first child. So, naturally, I’m knitting a baby blanket again... Since children in this region are often affectionately called "Dötzchen"— meaning "little dot"— I chose a polka-dot pattern for both the center of the blanket and the textured border, alongside some cheerful color gradient yarns. Honestly, I am thrilled with the result myself, and I hope the blanket will wrap the new little arrival in soft comfort.

Ein befreundetes Paar im Rheinland erwartet sein erstes Kind. Also wird mal wieder eine Babydecke gestrickt… Da man in dieser Region Kinder gerne „Dötzchen“ nennt - was kleiner Punkt heißt - habe ich mir neben fröhlichen Farbverlaufsgarnen ein Punktmuster sowohl für das Innere der Decke, als auch für den rechts-links-gestrickten Rand ausgesucht. Ganz ehrlich, ich bin vom Ergebnis selbst begeistert. Und hoffe, dass die Decke den neuen, kleinen Erdenbürger weich umhüllen wird.
