This is a #SizeInclusive basic pattern for cuff-down, vanilla, shortie socks in 7! sizes. It utilizes a standard cuff, heel flap and gusset, and 2 types of toe decreases. Instructions are included for a longer leg, if desired.
This is a learn-how-to-knit-SOCKS pattern. :)
It’s an easy pattern to follow for a beginning knitter who has a basic knowledge of casting on, knit, purl, decreases, and is comfortable using your needles of choice.
It could be used as a learn-to-knit pattern if a new knitter is willing/able to research the basic techniques expected for this pattern.
Included in the pattern are video tutorials for: 1) Picking up the gusset stitches on your heel flap. 2) How to kitchener graft the toes of your socks. 3) Starting the heel flap: Demonstrated using 4 different needle methods (2 circulars, 4 or 5 DPNs, 9 inch circular, magic loop) 4) Starting and finishing the heel turn, including detailed instruction on “knitting to the gap”.
