Crochet Katrine Highland Sontag Shawl Pattern

The Katrine Sontag Shawl is very easy and beginner friendly.

This pattern is part of my Vintage Crochet Series, and is very typical of an 18th century wrap/shawl, as could be found in the Scottish Highlands.

It is a very beautiful and feminine shawl that features ties to secure it around the body (see photographs); this is called a sontag shawl.

This shawl is very beginner friendly, and features a lovely V shape, as well as a V stitch/shell stitch edging and feminine ties to help fasten this shawl around the body.

For this project you will need:

A skein of Caron Cloud Cake in shade Cloud Grey

A 5 mm crochet hook

A pair of scissors

A tapestry needle
