Cozumel is a very simple cowl, ideal for stashbusting DK weight yarn leftovers. Pic 5 colors, mix them and have fun! The cowl is worked flat and seamed to create a loop. It features a simple mosaic pattern, which is ideal for everyone wanting to try it for the first time, as well as for knitters who know it really well.
The pattern is fully written and charted (with two types of charts for easy knitting).

Stitches and Stitch Techniques
The primary stitch used throughout Cozumel is Garter Stitch, which is created by knitting all rows when working flat. This simple, reversible stitch creates a textured fabric with horizontal ridges and is ideal for beginners due to its straightforward execution.
The pattern incorporates two key advanced techniques:
- Provisional Cast-On – A temporary cast-on method that allows stitches to be picked up later, enabling seamless joining of the cowl into a continuous loop
- Kitchener Stitch in Garter Stitch – A grafting technique used to join the two ends of the cowl together invisibly, creating a finished, seamless garment
Materials and Yarn Requirements
Cozumel requires approximately 500 meters (546 yards) of DK weight yarn or light worsted yarn. The yarn is divided among 5 different colors, with roughly half a skein allocated to each colorway. This multi-color construction creates visual interest and dimension in the finished cowl.
