Product Description
New for this year to complement the Christmas Glamour pattern range are these two cute mini baubles. Measuring only 11cm in circumference they are super quick to make.
The beaded bauble has full instructions for applying beads with a crochet hook. For those of you have not yet used this method it is well worth learning. No threading hundreds of beads onto your yarn. Brilliant.
You will need approx. 100 size 6 seed beads (I prefer to used Debbie Abrahams beads).
As always I have included full instructions and video links to tutorials to get you started with any new techniques or to offer a refresher should you need one.
Happy Knitting,

Christmas Glamour Mini Bead & Stripe Baubles Pattern
What is Being Made
This downloadable knitting pattern by Jane Burns creates miniature decorative Christmas baubles measuring 11cm in circumference. These small ornaments are designed to coordinate with a glamorous Christmas knitting collection and feature both striped and beaded variations for festive holiday decoration.
Techniques Used
The baubles are worked in the round using a straightforward construction method suitable for intermediate knitters. The pattern incorporates two primary decorative techniques: striped colorwork created by alternating yarn colors throughout the rounds, and bead application using a crochet hook. Video links are included in the pattern to guide knitters through the bead-application process, making this technique accessible even for those new to beading. The pattern notes that while the finished baubles appear intricate, they are deceptively easy to construct.
Stitches Used
This intermediate pattern employs fundamental knitting stitches including:
- Stocking stitch (stockinette stitch) as the primary fabric structure
- K2tog (knit two stitches together) for decreasing
- M1 (make one stitch) for increasing, worked by picking up the horizontal strand between stitches
- Kfb (knit into front and back) for additional increases
Materials and Tools
The pattern calls for Jane Burns Wendy Merino four ply yarn in two colorways: shade 2376 Silver and shade 2372 Mulberry, with one 50g ball of each color required. Knitting is worked on 2.50mm double-pointed needles (a set of four). Additional materials include a 0.75mm crochet hook for bead application, a darning needle for finishing, toy stuffing for padding the baubles, and approximately 100 size 6 seed beads for embellishment. The pattern specifies a tension of 30 stitches by 42 rows over a 10cm square using 2.50mm needles in stocking stitch.
