I discovered recently that robins are so strongly associated with Christmas here in the UK because the postmen, who carried everyone's Christmas cards, used to wear bright red uniforms and were nicknamed “robin” or “redbreast” as a result. So it only seemed right to make sure that this cute robin sweater had pockets for carrying little gifts and treats - whether they're being delivered to someone else or intended just for the wearer.

This little festive sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Regular raglan increases form the body and sleeves until the split at the underarms where the sleeve stitches are put on hold to be worked once the body is complete. The pockets are worked separately, with the cute little robins added using duplicate stitch, then sewn on at the end.
