Product Description
With this pattern you will be instructed on how to make an Amigurumi doll and Captain Marvel Outfit. The instructions also show you how to embroider eyes; this will require embroidery thread.
As addition to the yarn and embroidery thread, you will need: stuffing, a 12mm x 12mm button, a thread needle, scissors, berry pins, row counter and I would highly recommend a stitch marker. If you use different yarns your items may turn out differently.
The pattern is 22 pages long;I have included pictures a long with written notes to help you at each step.
Captain Marvel Crochet Doll Pattern
What Is Being Made
This is a crochet pattern for a Captain Marvel doll designed by Made with Love and Stitches. The finished doll stands approximately 28 cm tall, making it a medium-sized amigurumi-style character doll suitable for display or as a gift. This is a fan-made interpretation of the Marvel character, designed for personal crafting use.
Craft and Technique
The pattern uses crochet as the primary construction method. The design is written in UK crochet terminology, which uses different abbreviations and stitch names than US terminology (for example, UK treble equals US double crochet). The pattern is classified as intermediate difficulty, indicating it requires foundational crochet knowledge and familiarity with common amigurumi techniques.
This is a downloadable PDF pattern suitable for crafters who have experience with basic crochet stitches and shaping techniques. The intermediate level suggests the pattern includes shaping, increases, decreases, and assembly of multiple pieces to create the three-dimensional doll form.
Stitches and Construction
While specific stitch-by-stitch details are not listed in the pattern overview, typical crochet doll construction uses fundamental stitches including single crochet for tight, dense fabric that holds stuffing securely. The pattern likely incorporates increases and decreases for shaping the head, body, limbs, and facial features characteristic of amigurumi dolls.
Materials and Yarn
The pattern accommodates DK and Aran weight yarns, offering flexibility in yarn choice while noting that yarn substitution may affect final doll size and appearance.
Yarn colors used in the original design:
- Scheepjes Softfun 2466 for skin tone
- Paintbox Simply Aran in Kingfisher Blue for costume details
- Paintbox Simply Aran in Rose Red for costume details
- Stylecraft Life DK in Caramel for hair
- Sparkle Glamorous Yarn in Gold for accent details
Crafters are encouraged to substitute yarns of their choice, with the understanding that different yarn fiber content and weight may produce variations in the final doll's size and color appearance.
Finishing Details
The pattern includes options for facial features. The original design uses embroidered eyes, though crafters may choose to substitute safety eyes or felt pieces as alternatives based on personal preference and intended use of the finished doll.
Assembly of the various crocheted pieces is required to complete the three-dimensional doll structure.
