Big Flower Hug is a warm triangular shawl designed as a heartfelt gift project. The design offers two size options to suit different preferences: a full wingspan version measuring 160cm/64" across and 80cm/32" deep, or a shorter version with a 150cm/62" wingspan and 75cm/31" depth when washed and blocked.

This shawl uses straightforward knitting techniques ideal for beginner-level crafters. The primary construction method relies on garter stitch, which creates a relaxed, meditative knitting experience with consistent texture throughout. The simple triangle shape forms the foundation of the design, providing an elegant drape without complex shaping requirements.

Yarn yardage requirements vary by size option:

• Full option: approximately 560 meters / 616 yards
• Short option: approximately 480 meters / 525 yards

The pattern is suitable for substitution with any worsted or aran weight yarn, allowing crafters flexibility in fiber choice while maintaining the intended finished dimensions and drape. Standard knitting needles appropriate for worsted-weight yarn are required.
