Notions: large pompom maker

The second design named for Beryl Markham in the Leather, Lace, Grit & Grace collection, its inspiration is from a black and white photo of the pilot in the early 70s, long after her flying days were over.

This is an uncomplicated hat made in two pieces and seamed on the sides for added stability. The pompom makes it fun; the slightly thick & thin quality of the original yarn used (along with the yarn's great colorways) makes for nice texture and super color atop your head.
