BASIC Socken

Simple, thick socks, ideal for cozy days at home on the couch or for extra warm feet in shoes and boots. The socks really come into their own when the cuff protrudes a little from the shoes. As the name suggests, the socks are designed very simply, without a lot of frills, so that they can be knitted quickly and easily. They are worked on double pointed needles size 4.0 mm (US 6/UK 8), from top to bottom. First the cuff is worked in a 1/1 rib pattern, then the shaft in a 2/2 rib pattern. The heel is worked as a diagonal seam heel, using shadow wraps. Finally, the sock tip is worked as a classic wedge toe.
