Hi! We are a cooperative of women in Azerbaijan who have been making these slippers for many many generations. We are so excited to offer you a pattern to make these wonderful slipper socks for yourself! These slippers are knitted from the toe-up, include twined knitting, and stranded colorwork.
This pattern: Yarn weight: DK (11 wpi)
Gauge: 13 stitches and 16 rows = 2 inches in stranded colorwork.
Needle size: 1-2 US needles (2.5 mm) ~30” circular+ for magic loop or DPNs & 16” circular (for Med & Lg)
also recommended: tapestry needle, stitch marker
Yardage: Large: ~260 yards (100g/3.53 Oz.) main color & ~85 yards contrast color Medium: ~240 yards main color & ~80 yards contrast color Small: ~200 yards main color & ~70 yards contrast color
