Audrey 2 Crochet Decoration Pattern

What Is Being Made

Audrey 2 is an original crochet design by Pippa Patterns, created as a decorative project. This intermediate-level pattern produces a crocheted decoration suitable for display or embellishment purposes.

Craft and Primary Technique

This project uses crochet as its primary construction method. The pattern is presented as a downloadable PDF file that includes both written instructions and photo tutorials to guide crafters through the creation process. The photo tutorial format makes this pattern particularly accessible for visual learners working through intermediate-level crochet techniques.

Crochet Stitches Used

Audrey 2 employs a variety of fundamental and intermediate crochet stitches to create its structure and shaping:

  • Magic ring (mr) – used to begin rounds in a closed center
  • Chain stitch (ch) – foundational stitch for creating base chains and spacing
  • Single crochet (sc) – basic stitch used throughout the pattern
  • Single crochet increase (sc inc) – for shaping and expanding sections
  • Half double crochet (hdc) – medium-height stitch for varied texture
  • Half double crochet increase (hdc inc) – for controlled shaping with this stitch height
  • Double crochet (dc) – taller stitch for creating more open fabric areas
  • Double crochet increase (dc inc) – for expanding sections worked in double crochet
  • Triple crochet (tc) – extra-tall stitch for specific design elements
  • Triple crochet increase (tc inc) – for shaping with triple crochet stitches
  • Quadruple crochet (quad) – the tallest stitch in the pattern
  • Back loop only (BLO) – technique worked through only the back loop of stitches for textural variation
  • Slip stitch (slst) – used to join rounds and create seamless transitions

Materials and Yarn Specifications

The pattern is designed to work with specific yarn weights and quantities:

  • Yarn weights: The pattern accommodates 3-ply, 4-ply, lace weight, and thread options, offering flexibility for crafters with different yarn stashes
  • Yarn quantities by color:
    • Light green: approximately 100g
    • Dark green: approximately 100g

I enjoyed the pattern and was able to understand the instructions is it was fiddley because of a new added technique of adding wire. I loved how it worked up. I used strong wire. I think I would do the teeth a bit different - like make a bud and hot-glue them on.
