Asahi Cable Lace Shawl

This is a pattern for a knit shawl that features three lace and cable stitches that come to us from Japan. The focal stitch is an intricate and unique cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. It is surrounded by very interesting cables. The side “Japanese” ladder stitches frame the other two stitches beautifully. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate+ (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).

The stitch is charted.

Any heavy fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern.

No crochet hooks needed, if you don't want to do the optional edging.
