Ada Limón spring stocking

This is a pattern for a decorative stocking using the Stranded colourwork knitting technique. The stocking is knit in the round and from the cuff down through most of the foot. Then the piece is worked flat and shaped by binding off stitches and then sewn together.

Duplicate Stitch and simple embroidery may be used to embellish or highlight any motif you like.

This pattern contains complex colourwork charts and is intended for knitters comfortable using charts and with experience working colourwork flat.

I have also included a small note about working short rows, in place of binding off, to shape the foot. I did not do this on my original sample, but one of the test knitters had beautiful results.
