It is all done in one continuous strip. No fastening off, no attaching pieces. This is a very simple, easy to understand pattern, with no abbreviations, and written up without unnecessary stitches or instructions!
I have combined two strands of knitting worsted yarn, blending a variegated yarn with a solid color yarn, for a soft appearance. (I sometimes find the variegated yarns to be too abstract in the finished work of crochet. Knitting has a way of softening the effect, and so I have incorporated a solid color to achieve that look.)
