What is Being Made

Techniques Used

This advanced-level knitting project employs several key techniques. The garment begins with constructing individual pieces that are later assembled. Blocking is an essential finishing step, with instructions to pin pieces to measurements, mist on the wrong side, and allow to dry for proper shape and drape. Shoulder seams are sewn to join the front and back pieces. The neckline edge is worked in the round using a circular needle, with stitches picked up and knit along the neckline opening on the right side. Ribbing is worked in the round at the neckline for a finished, elastic edge. Sleeve attachment and seaming complete the construction, with sleeve seams and side seams sewn to join all pieces into the final garment.

Materials

This pattern calls for Novita Nordic Wool in the colorway 060 Sand. The yarn is a DK weight, suitable for creating a fabric with good drape and structure.

Needles required: 4 mm (UK 8 / US 6) straight or circular needles for working the main garment pieces, and a 4 mm (UK 8 / US 6) circular needle measuring 40 cm (16 in) specifically for picking up and working the neckline ribbing in the round.
