TINY PENGUINS: These little penguins ate very quick and easy to knit and every one will have its own character with a different facial expression. They are the perfect size to decorate the Christmas tree and pop into Christmas crackers.
SIZE: 5cm (2in).
NEEDLES: Pair of 2.75mm needles (US 2).
YARN: Very small amounts of double knitting yarn in black, white and golden yellow. (US use light worsted, Australia 8 ply)
This pattern was created and written by knitwear designer Wendy Phillips for the Westmorland Red Squirrel Society which is a British Registered Charity (No.1144416). All proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be used by the charity to help maintain a healthy population of red squirrels in South East Cumbria (English Lake District).

Straightforward pattern to follow made easier by not having to use different coloured yarns at the same time
Great knitting patterns.
Made five penguins. Made a green scarf for one of the penguins and a red one for another. Placed them all in a snowflake organza bag and they look so cute. All ready for Christmas as a sweet little stocking-filler. Just as a bonus, the penguins actually stand really well. Lots of fun.
Quick to knit using up scraps of wool. I placed one on a snowball which contained a chocolate orange instead of a robin
