This Patchwork Sweater is a women's pullover jumper knitting pattern designed by Debbie Bliss, worked in her signature chunky-weight yarn Debbie Bliss Nell. The design takes its name from its bold, colour-blocked aesthetic: the body and sleeves are divided into large rectangular patches of contrasting colours, giving the finished garment a striking, modern patchwork appearance. Rated as an intermediate difficulty project, it is an ideal next step for knitters who are comfortable with basic shaping and are ready to explore colourwork and garment construction techniques.
The pattern produces a women's pullover sweater with set-in or drop-shoulder styling, worked in six sizes to fit chest measurements ranging from 82–87 cm (32–34 in) up to 132–137 cm (52–54 in). Finished chest measurements span from 110 cm (43¼ in) to 167 cm (66 in), offering generous positive ease across all sizes. The body length ranges from 54 cm to 62 cm (21¼ in to 24½ in) depending on size, and sleeve length ranges from 44 cm to 48 cm (17¼ in to 19 in). The sweater is a relaxed, wearable everyday garment with a cosy, chunky feel.
The patchwork effect is achieved through the use of five colours of Debbie Bliss Nell, each assigned a letter for ease of reference in the pattern:
