What Is Being Made

This is a beginner-friendly knitted halter top designed to fit bust measurements from 34 inches (Small) to 46 inches (Extra Large). The garment features a classic halter neckline construction and is worked primarily in the round for the body, making it an excellent introduction to circular knitting techniques for newer knitters.

Construction Method and Techniques

The Beginner Knit Halter Top is constructed using a top-down approach, which allows knitters to try on the piece as they work and easily adjust the length to their preference. The pattern begins with a small cast-on at the neckline, then progresses through flat knitting while incorporating increases at the beginning of each row to shape the halter straps and upper bodice. Once the desired width is achieved, additional stitches are cast on in the middle of the work, and the piece is joined in the round to continue knitting the main body of the top. The pattern concludes with the creation of two i-cords, which form the halter ties.

Stitches and Stitch Patterns Used
