Amazing Modular Baby Cardigan

Please note this is a BOXY, square cardigan with an oversized style, if you need a more fitted result you can do a couple of things to change the proportions. Make a smaller size so the width fits your childs chest measurement, but add additional length to the bottom of the body to make a taller, slimmer version. Instructions on how to do that are included in the Kids and Adults versions, but you could just pick up the hem edge and knit extra length once the body is finished.

Make sure you actually add the icord edgings, particularly on the neck. If the neck is left unfinished it’ll make the cardigan too large, it was included in the pattern to draw in the neck and add stability to the fabric. If you don’t want to add an icord neck finish, then knit a ribbed collar, it’ll do the same job.

This is a modular piece where each piece is knitted on from the last, the only joins are sleeves and sides which I joined with a three needle cast off/bind off.
