Jane Reay

I've been knitting all my life and love designing and creating new patterns. I almost always have knitting needles in my hand and have been known to knit on trains, buses, in cars, on flights, by the swimming pool, in the hospital.......! I have 5 beautiful grandchildren who I love to knit for. When my first grandchildren arrived they were both girls. I had two daughters myself and found it easy to source great ideas for clothes. Then along came three little boys and I discovered that the mainstream clothing for them was at best dull. I like children to enjoy what they wear and have an element of choice in it. Most of the clothes I design for children are in pure fibres to keep them warm/cool, they are mostly unisex and they’re for having fun in. Apart from school uniform, I never owned a shop jumper in my childhood. My mum knitted for all five of us and I draw much of my inspiration from her designs. I hope you have as much fun knitting my patterns as I have designing them. Jane
