"I made this for My home"

I've always wanted a patchwork quilt - probably watched too much "Little House on the Prairie" in the 70s. This is my version - it'd made up of lots of right angled triangles (I knitted mitred squares) with a few narrow rectangular pieces to balance things out. I started with the central panel then worked outwards and sewed each section as it was completed. The border is knitted with 3 strands of chunky yarn to give a thick edge to the finished bedspread.

That is amazing! I have a 70's crochet pattern for a bedspread which I should do. I would never be able to knit something so big. I find a jumper for the old chap gard enough ( 6 years so far). Anyway its brilliant work

Thanks - it took about 2 or 3 weeks to do but it was actually really relaxing. Just lots of mitred squares,4 big triangles (56 stitch base)and each section sewn together as it was finished

Wow, you’ve been busy Christine. You’ve made a really different version of a patchwork quilt. I love how you’ve mixed the sizes of the triangles. It’ll keep you lovely and warm next winter.

It took a few attempts to work it out. It was all put together using mitred squares. I made the centre piece first, then it just grew from there. I love the mathematics behind it (even though geometry always a stumbling block). It will certainly be warm - it weighs in at around 5kg/
