I bought some beautiful DK hand-dyed boucle yarn and quickly realised that you can't see the stitches once you start crocheting. I designed the Pebble Cowl pattern with cluster stitches mixed with rows of double crochet (US terms - single crochet) to allow me to use the boucle yarn and create a super soft cowl that I just love to snuggle into! I used Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in Gold for the double crochet rows which I felt worked really well with the dark blues and purples of the boucle yarn. The published pattern includes instructions for using ordinary Aran weight yarn (not boucle) but I wanted to show how different yarns can be used to great effect making it a perfect way to use up some of those speciality yarns that are hiding in your cupboards!
