I'm sorry I haven't replied sooner, you've probably sol ed the problem by now. I think that the main reason for being a stitch short is because you haven't done a yarn over somewhere on the previous row. I hope that helps.
Was wondering if anyone else had a problem with row 2 or the center panel in the pattern. It seems that there are fewer stitches following the pattern than there should be.
I finished the blanket by the end of September, which was my target. Yes I think it might be difficult to work on straight needles, there are over 200 stitches. I had my first attempt at blocking to try to make it the specified width, but it wasn't very successful. Other than that I'm very pleased with it, it's the baby shower next week, I just hope the mum to be likes it.
Really pretty! I was wondering if you thought it was essential to use circular needles? I don't like using them as I knit with a needle under my arm. I love the pattern and Im going to be a nana so looking for a pretty pattern for my new grandchild-to-be. Thanks!

Very pretty
It's quite a complicated pattern but interesting. It seems to be working out about 10 cm less wide than the measurement on the pattern
