I just could not resist the beautiful new-to-me yarn using Lion Brand Mandala Sparkle. I was really drawn to the lovely transition of colors in this fiber and with just the right amount of "sparkle" this developed into my Aquila Cowlette. I love that the design gives you the option of securing the cowlette by crocheting the left and right wings together as you work the cowlette, as seen in my photos. Or, you can simply add buttons spaced evenly along one wing to easily be popped through the fabric to secure it in place, giving you lots of options for wearing. It is versatile, and can be made to a variety of sizes simply by stopping when you have achieved the size that works best for you. This is a fun pattern that a beginner to advanced crocheter would really enjoy, and works up in just a few days. I used less than 3 full cakes of the yarn. Stitches used: SC, CH and bean stitch.
